Depending on the case’s complexity, multiple implant treatments take several months. Multiple visits may be necessary for preparation and healing time in-between stages.
The initial dental exam and planning stage can take a few appointments and may involve digital imaging and diagnostic tests so that the implants are placed in the optimal position. Once the treatment plan is finalised, the implant placement surgery is done in one or two appointments, depending on the number of implants needed.
Following the implant placement surgery, a period of healing is required, during which the implants fuse with the jawbone. The healing period required for osseointegration can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months, and the attachment of the abutments and artificial teeth can take an additional few appointments, which can be completed within a few weeks to a couple of months.
It’s important to note that these timelines are just estimates, and the duration of the treatment may vary depending on individual factors. Your dentist can provide a more accurate estimate of the treatment duration based on your specific case and treatment plan.
